Strategic Planning Consultant
Leads planning engagements for businesses, nonprofits and public bodies across the Valley, and facilitates the stop list session that every Alvestris plan depends on. This role requires somebody who can hold a difficult room without rescuing it.
What you will do
- Lead strategic planning engagements from framing through to plan handover
- Conduct interviews across client organizations, including with staff well below the leadership team
- Produce the capacity assessment measuring management hours genuinely available for change work after existing commitments are counted
- Use that assessment to set a ceiling on the number of initiatives a plan may contain
- Facilitate the stop list session, identifying specific activities that will end with dates and named owners agreed by the people whose work is affected
- Decline to issue a plan where no stop list has been agreed, and explain that position to the client
- Sequence initiatives across the planning period and name explicitly what will not happen in year one
- Run sessions and produce documentation in both English and Spanish
What we are looking for
- Five or more years in strategy consulting, organizational planning or a senior operational role
- Demonstrated facilitation experience with leadership teams and boards
- The composure to hold a room through an uncomfortable decision rather than easing it
- Fluent Spanish and English, both used regularly in this role
- Willingness to tell a client that their plan cannot be executed as drafted
- Nonprofit or public sector experience welcome but not required
Senior Consultant
Owns the board relationship on larger engagements and leads governance and facilitation work where the planning conversation has stalled.
What you will do
- Lead multi-site and cross-border planning engagements
- Facilitate board sessions, including where board and executive assumptions diverge
- Present findings to full boards without softening material that concerns the executive
- Supervise consultants and review every plan before issue
What we are looking for
- Eight or more years in strategy or organizational consulting
- Board-level facilitation and presentation experience
- Track record of engagements that were actually implemented
- Fluent Spanish and English
Research and Planning Analyst
Builds the evidence base and the capacity model that every engagement rests on, including the operational and financial analysis behind the change ceiling.
What you will do
- Gather and analyse financial and operational data across client organizations
- Build the capacity model quantifying available management hours
- Prepare interview summaries and thematic analysis
- Produce plan documentation and board-ready exhibits
What we are looking for
- Three or more years in analysis, research or operational planning
- Strong spreadsheet modelling and clear written analysis
- Care about the difference between an assumption and a finding
- Bilingual Spanish and English
Consulting Associate
Supports engagements across interviews, analysis and documentation, with structured progression toward leading sessions within two years.
What you will do
- Schedule and support client interviews across engagements
- Prepare notes, summaries and analysis under supervision
- Assist in building capacity models and plan documents
- Shadow senior colleagues in facilitation and board sessions
What we are looking for
- Careful written work and reliable follow-through
- Genuine interest in how organizations make decisions
- Bilingual Spanish and English
- Open to graduates and to career changers from operational roles
